A Message from Juliana
My name is Juliana Jonathan. I was born in 1979, Loliondo in Ngorongoro District- Arusha region. I was born in a Christian family of 7 children, I am the fifth child in our family. In our family there are 6 men and I am the only girl.
I started primary school in 1988 and I joined Secondary school education in 1995, and I completed my O level in 1999 at Tanga Technical Secondary School, after that I joined Technical College Arusha (TCA) in 2001 for three years. I completed TCA in 2003.
During my studying period I met many problems due to the lack of some basic needs of school; this was because of the inability of my parents. My father is a Pastor, even as a Pastor he is not paid for the work is doing; he is just volunteering. This is because of difficult environment of the place he works. He gets his needs through cultivating some crops, so that’s how my father is living and I studied by using the low income of my parents which was available through cultivation. My mother is a house wife.
During the time I was studying I put them in hunger situation due to the reason of giving me the money they collected by selling crops, but they did as they could to ensure that I study.
Also during the time I was studying, the school fees was affordable and that’s why my parents were able to pay the school fees for me. In the past, school fees was very cheap, but now is too high. For someone to study at this moment, they need a lot of money to pay for the school they want to join, so things have changed, and life in our days is very tough.
You can see schools I passed was technical schools and I was studying electricity. I am an electrician. After I completed TCA I wanted to go for further Electrical studies up to the degree level, but I didn’t go on due to the lack of the money to pay for the college. After that I was employed temporarily in a certain office as an electrician, but I was paid low salary which was not enough compared with the work I was doing. Then I decided to leave the job. After a while I met a man who proposed to marry me and I agreed. In 2005 I married the man because I loved him and he loved me too. Until now he is my husband and in 2007 God blessed us with a baby girl. My husband is a Gospel music singer. He is paid low salary which helps us to survival. We use it for buying some food and some small and basic needs.
I want to take Accountant studies, because I have seen that accounting will help me and make my dreams come true. So I have decided to change the idea and I want to become an Accountant.
For sure I need the support from the sponsors because I have no other means of getting the money to study. My husband and I get small amount of money which we use to cover some home needs such as paying the rent, buying food, clothes etc. It can not pay the fees for the college. That is the reason why I am requesting you to do fundraising to support me.
I want also to thank each one of you who want to contribute for me, MAY GOD BLESS YOU AND KEEP YOU AND YOUR FAMILY.
